On-line Discussion: In order to devote some class time to viewing work, a part of the discussion will be held on-line. This also allows people at some distance from the campus to participate. You will be expected to participate in the discussion at least once a week, commenting on the works we've seen, and there is no limit to the number of comments you can make. Details of how to access the discussion and contribute to it will be covered in class.
Papers: All of the work that you submit in this class will be related to the individual artist and works you select to research and explore. The assignments are scheduled to build on one another, so that completing one prepares you to do the next. While the work will first be submitted in hard copy, the web requires that it also be available in digital form. You may submit revisions by email, or on a disk. All disks will be returned.
Presentation: Each student will discuss the work of a selected artist. The presentation will include the showing of at least one of the artist's works. The length of the presentation will depend, in part, on the length of the work chosen. Maximum time limits will be established once the number of presenters has been determined.
The Web Site: The Film and Viseo Art Web Site is collestion of on-line documents and links to other sites. Your contribution will include the information you have gathered on your artist, including the critical essay. Ultimately your contribution will appear on the the Film and Video Art website.
Attendance: You are expected to attend this class.
