Cara Devito Biography
Cara DeVito worked for NBC News for 17
years. She ended her experience with NBC to take on a
new world of independent documentary film. She joined
with Jeffery Kleinman to produce a film called
What Could You Do With A Nickel. This film, was a
1982 Emmy Award winner and a silver medal winner at
the 1982 Houston International Festival. She also
wrote many books for children and young adults. Where I
Want to be is a book that is included on middle school suggested reading lists through out
the country. She wrote Why Should the Public Trust
Journalists in which she comments on the work she did
for NBC and how she is disgusted with what journalism
has become. She also formed her own production
company, Hey Hey Pictures, in Rhinebeck, New York.
