Willoughby Sharp Characteristics




Willoughby Sharp was involved mostly in video interviews and short films. He was one of the first artists, along with Nam June Paik, to use Sony's Portapack video system for his art, producing a series of Video Performances and Video Views with artists such as Acconci, Beuys, Burden, Nauman, Oppenheim and Sonnier. Sharp's media work consisted of a number of small films in 8mm, super 8mm, and 16mm. His 16mm documentary film Place and Process was shown at the Museum of Modern Art.
