Assignment 5 - Persuasive speech 1

Reading.  The basic understanding of how people persuade  others was articulated in ancient Greece by Aristotle and hasn't changed since. For a brief explanation of the processes that convince us read http://www.rpi.edu/dept/llc/webclass/web/project1/group4/ to get the sense of what Logos, Pathos and Ethos mean. Then read the chapter summary of Aristotle's Rhetoric for Chapter 2 at http://www.public.iastate.edu/~honeyl/Rhetoric/oneindex.html . Those of you more interested may read the chapter itself, which is linked right there.

Assignment: Prepare a persuasive speech on any topic using some degree of all three elements of the rhetoric.

This speech should be outlined on one page, not written out as sentences.
