Physical Description
Indentifying Characteristics: Dark olive dorsal surface, with yellow to crimson ventral coloration.

Habitat
Range: Florida
Macro: Commonly found in pinelands and hardwood hammocks.
Macro: Found in moist or damp places, near water, under logs, stones, tree stumps, or damp litter.

Natural History
Feeding: Preys on small invertebrates & vertebrates such as small frogs, and earthworms.
Period of Activity: Active between late March and mid-September to mid-October.
Reproduction: Oviparous.

Conservation
Diadophis punctatus acricus is on the threatened species list of Florida, and is protected there under state law.
