Library Instruction

As the liaison librarian to the Communication, English, Music, Philosophy, Theatre Arts, World Languages & Literatures, and Writing departments at WCSU, I am responsible for providing course-integrated library instruction at the request of instructors, and for providing research consultations as needed by students enrolled in courses in the seven disciplines. To make an appointment for library instruction or to schedule a research consultation, please contact me by phone (203-837-8308) or email (reitzj@wcsu.edu) or stop by my office in Room 402 on the fourth floor of the Haas Library, near the glass elevator (please knock if my door is closed). I am also responsible for collection development in my liaison departments. Book and media order requests may be sent to me via email--please include adequate bibliographic description of the item (author, title, publisher, publication date, ISBN).

As a service to the library profession, I publish the Dictionary for Library and Information Science (Westport CT: Libraries Unlimited, 2004) in print, and its online hypertext equivalent ODLIS: Online Dictionary for Library and Information Science, updated annually. A copy of the print edition of the dictionary is available in the reference section on the first floor of the Ruth Haas Library under the call number: Ref Z 1006.R45 2004.
