About the Roxbury RacesAbout forty runners meet every Saturday morning from February through November, at the recreation area on West Apple Lane in Roxbury, Connecticut. We have a little race, starting at 8:30am. No entry fees (usually. Three "championships" a year charge $5 each). Sometimes we have t-shirts. Distances vary from 2.4 miles to 11.2 miles. For all races over 5 miles, we also have an alternate race of 3.55 miles or less. In December 2004 we closed the season with the First Ever Roxbury Marathon. To get to the start, find the monument on Rt. 67 in "downtown" Roxbury. Go half a mile south on South Street (past Town Hall). Turn right onto West Apple Lane. The Hurlburt Recreation Area is half a mile on your right. We hope you can join us. For more information about the Roxbury Road Race Series, contact race director Bob Lewis via email at ctstaterunner (at) yahoo (dot) com, or at 203 240 0162.
