Welcome
Technology has dramatically influenced the music industry. Unlike previous generations, 21st century musicians must now be equally fluent on both their chosen instrument as well as the music technology available to them.
The Music Technology class, and newly updated lab facility, offer WCSU students the best opportunity to learn the current musical hardware equipment and software applications available. Topics include: the basic principles of sound generation and manipulation, MIDI, studio hardware/software configuration, signal flow, music notation and sequencing software, digital audio recording, software instruments, music education and assesment software, multimedia, and scoring for picture.
This web site is designed to be a resource for students currently enrolled in the Music Technology course. WebCT Vista (accessible only through WestConnduit) offers registered students the opportunity to download step-by-step tutorials, assignment instructions, and all course-related documents. Non-registered students may use the links provided to learn more about the course work, lab facility, and other recommended music technology resources.
